In 1881 Joseph Scott, who was a Brewers Agent, was living with his four daughters at Highton House, The Green, West Ham.
The large cross memorial in the churchyard commemorates Joseph & his wife, Caroline, as well as Mary Ann & Caroline, two of their daughters.
There are also memorials to his daughters Caroline & Mary Ann elsewhere in the church.
